IN/VISIBLE TALKS 2019
Exploring the Creative Process
In/Visible Talks is the Bay Area’s leading conference that celebrates the art of design and creativity. Following the success of its inaugural year, Noise 13 was invited to evolve the brand for the 2019 event—building a stronger foundation for the conference’s long-term identity while introducing a fresh look and feel for its second year.
Our challenge was twofold: solidify the core brand to live beyond a single event and develop a unique visual system for the 2019 conference that would feel inspiring, cohesive, and connected. We brought more polish to the overall identity while retaining the hand-crafted spirit that made the first year feel so personal. The updated logomark carried forward the original vibrancy, while a new set of playful symbols added an expressive layer, representing the many interactions that shape a creative journey.
For the 2019 system, we celebrated the full spectrum of the creative process—new discoveries and attention to detail, the refined and the naive. We drew inspiration from analog tools like paint brushes, typewriters, and wooden figure models, incorporating bitmapped imagery reminiscent of dot matrix printers and risographs. Materials like kraft paper, canvas, and cardboard created a tactile, layered experience across print, digital, and environmental touchpoints.
From temporary tattoos and enamel pins to a cardboard box stage backdrop, every element contributed to an immersive experience that reflected the spirit of the conference. The result was a cohesive, expressive brand that sparked curiosity and conversation—honoring creativity in all its forms.
